Complete dentures can also be referred to as a full set and a removable prosthesis. This type of denture is used when you are replacing all your natural teeth. Complete dentures will take some time to get used to as you will notice your speech may change, the size of the denture may be different, you could have an increased gag reflex and eating will feel differently. We also offer the BPS precision denture to ensure a precise fit.
A partial denture replaces one or more missing natural teeth and is customized to a patient’s individual needs. Removable partial dentures restore a person’s natural appearance and greatly improve the ability to chew and speak clearly. With a partial denture you will look, feel and chew better.
A cost effective way of replacing many missing teeth, dentures will be held securely in place by implants providing great improvement from traditional removable dentures. Implant retained dentures will completely restore your ability to eat and chew foods like you have before with your natural teeth.
To avoid being without teeth, your Denturist will implement the immediate denture technique. This involves taking impressions of your mouth while your natural teeth are still present. Your Denturist is then able to fabricate a denture in the likeness of your natural teeth, or make any necessary modifications. When your natural teeth are extracted, your immediate denture is then inserted. With this technique, you avoid having to go without any teeth while you go through the healing process. Immediate dentures protect sensitive tissues after natural teeth have been removed. This allows the healing process to occur while keeping the gums free of debris that might cause irritation.
A permanent soft liner is a layer of soft material that is fitted to the surface of a denture and rests next to the oral tissues. In short, a soft liner acts as a cushion or shock absorber between the hard plastic base of a denture and the gums. Soft liners can be used in the fabrication of new dentures or placed in existing dentures.
This consists of adding new base material to the tissue side of a denture so it fits properly. Relining can restore your denture to a “like new fit”. Your Denturist will need to take an impression inside your existing denture. Relining affects only the fit of your denture and will not change the appearance or other aspects. Relines are required when tissue changes occur due to resorption (shrinkage). Resorption can take months or years to happen. It can be due to: loss of weight loss of teeth, loss of bone, normal aging, disease or illness.
REBASE: Rebasing is usually done when the denture teeth have not worn out in comparison to the denture base material. It is a process of retrofitting dentures by replacing all of the acrylic denture base with new acrylic, which provides a stable denture without replacing the denture teeth.
In most cases, your Denturist can restore an existing broken or cracked denture to its original state. Repairs may be required when breakage or chipping occurs, when one or more teeth need to be added to an existing denture (due to tooth extraction), or because of wear and tear. Most repairs can easily be done in one day.
Athletic mouth guards are made of soft plastic. They are adapted to fit comfortably over the upper teeth. Mouth guards are important because the average cost of dental treatment over a lifetime for one tooth lost is approximately $5,000. When it comes to sports equipment, mouth guards are a priority. They protect not only the teeth, but the lips, cheeks and tongue. They also help protect a person from concussions and jaw fractures.
Through the use of a custom-made delivery system and the latest in teeth-whitening technology, you can have whiter and brighter teeth. Teeth whitening is a simple and effective process that lightens discoloration of enamel and dentin. The system uses a peroxide-based gel retained in a custom fitted appliance that is worn over your teeth. It can be used during the day or while you sleep.
We offer house calls at your own home, nursing home or retirement home for the clients who can not travel to our clinic. Our Denturist will come visit you for all of appointments. All appointments can be arranged within your schedule, as well as your Denturists.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF IMMEDIATE COMPLETE DENTURE
ADVANTAGES:
- The denture acts like band-aid. It applies constant pressure on the extraction sites, providing protection from debris (food, bacteria…) entering the socket and promotes healing at a faster rate and prevents infection. It may also help reduce bleeding and pain.
- May maintain the appearance of the patient. Patient can have a set of dentures on the same day following the extraction of natural teeth.
- Allows tongue and surrounding tissue to get used to wearing the dentures much sooner. It also aids in speaking and eating.
- Teeth are arranged in close position of natural teeth with the same measurement of the natural teeth height.
DISADVANTAGES:
- Requires more appointments during post-insertion visits for reline or rebase due to gum shrinkage.
- More expensive, especially due to unpredictable relining and may need to be remade.
- Immediate dentures don’t allow clients to try the trial dentures to assess for esthetic value. Esthetic is evaluated during insertion appointment.
- Patients may see more differences compared with their natural teeth.
- The denture is temporary following extractions. It must be finalized by a permanent reline or new denture due to bone resorption.
Note:
- Patient should NOT remove the dentures for 24 hours after extraction of natural teeth.
- Follow the post-operative home care instructions by the dentist (for example: NO smoking or drinking alcohol for 24 hours after extraction, don’t use straw to drink…)
- Take antibiotics a week before you see the dentist for extraction to prevent infection (prescriptions given by dentist).
